Lighthouse uses the data it collects from its oceanographic monitoring systems throughout the world and has the appropriate resources in place to interpret the data and update an environmental database on a real-time basis. This continuously growing environmental database is used to develop accurate full water column oceanographic models to effectively forecast circulation patterns or predict current phenomena that will reduce the the high cost of deepwater oil and gas field development projects but also reduce the impact these projects have on the coastal marine environment.
